Scorpion alternatives for home service companies
Scorpion is one of the biggest home-services marketing companies in the country, and their own FAQ says an engagement 'typically requires a 12-month contract' with no published pricing. Here's what we measured about their record — including things they do well — and what a month-to-month alternative looks like.

What Scorpion's own pages say about contracts and pricing
Verbatim, from their FAQ as of 2026-08-27: an engagement “typically requires a 12-month contract.” On pricing: “The investment you decide to make with Scorpion depends on your business goals.” On site ownership: you own your website “after the length of your contract.” No editorializing needed — those are the terms, in their words.
Scorpion's reviews, measured
Their Google Business Profile showed a 4.7 rating across 24 reviews at our 2026-08-27 measurement; their Clutch profile showed 4.2 across 10 reviews (recorded the same day). Small counts for a company their size — stated as measured, nothing more.
What we measured on their site
Their /hvac/ vertical page measured 36 on mobile Lighthouse performance with an 18.1-second LCP and 0.346 CLS; their home page's CLS measured 0.203 (single runs, 2026-08-27). Every one of those is re-runnable in a browser tab today — and you should run ours too.
Where Scorpion deserves credit
Prominently, because it's earned. Their pages were cited in the Google AI Overview for “hvac marketing agency” twice in our measured snapshot. They publicly state “Structured data is not required for AI search.” — a position we share, on the record. All 12 of their listed case studies carry quantified results. And they maintain an Addison, Texas office (opened 2017, page-stated).
The fit question
A 12-month lock versus month-to-month; enterprise scale versus a $2M–$50M focus. Neither is wrong. But a trade owner staring at a year-long commitment with no published price deserves to see the terms in writing first — see also how Scorpion compares with Blue Corona.
How these numbers were measured (and how to re-run them)
Method, briefly: the contract and pricing language is quoted from their own FAQ, unedited. Reviews come from public Google and Clutch listings. Performance numbers are standard Lighthouse CLI runs, dated. We also recorded the places Scorpion is measurably strong — the AI Overview citations, the quantified case studies, the correct public stance on schema — because a comparison that only lists weaknesses is an ad, not a record.
When they're the better choice
When Scorpion is the better choice: multi-location and franchise operations that need enterprise tooling, a big integrated platform, and national account structure. That's their lane, and they're established in it.
When MCANIX fits better
What a month-to-month Texas alternative looks like: 0 long-term contracts — cancel anytime — published measurements with dates, forms under five fields, and Texas operating-conditions content. Our other claims, same as every page: 20+ projects across Texas, 15+ years of combined founding-team experience, 4.9★ across our founders' client work.
Three commitments you can hold us to
- Contract and pricing terms are quoted verbatim from their own FAQ, with the link.
- The “when they're the better choice” section is mandatory, and this page updates when their record changes.
- No referral fees. And we'll say it here: Scorpion's public stance against schema-as-AI-fix is correct.
What we don't do
No referral fees. And we'll say it here: Scorpion's public stance against schema-as-AI-fix is correct.
